The fundamental goal of the game is to get the ball into the goal your opponent has set for themselves. An initial encounter is scheduled for the middle of the court. As the two teams face each other in a pregame formation, the referee tosses the ball into the air before turning it over. Players on either team take turns attempting to catch the ball and kick or throw it into the opposing team's goal. When tossing or kicking the ball in any direction, keep it within the court's limits. Even though it is legal for players to run with the ball, they are only allowed to take three steps before being forced to kick or toss it.
